Well, they did it! They made the third Ghostbusters film we wanted!
The following is completely spoiler free and largely plot free as I don’t actually want to spoil anything for anyone.
An absolute nostalgia trip which made me happy, sad, and every emotion in between.
It felt like a Ghostbusters film whilst also introducing a whole host of new characters into the world we know and love.
Everything just worked, although there just lacked the full originality for it to be truly a 5-star film. I think it works best if you are very familiar with the original film. If you were watching it brand new without seeing the others, you probably wouldn’t get half of the references in there.
Jason Reitman, son of original director Ivan takes over the mantle brilliantly and I enjoyed every moment with my whole being. It felt right, it felt familiar. It felt like it should.
It feels like I have just been given a huge Ghostbustery hug.
